Terms & Conditions Between the Registered Nutritional Therapist and Yoga Instructor (nutryama) and Client.
PART 1 The Nutritional Therapy and Yoga Instructor Description
Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health, wellbeing and individual care. Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTs) assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional imbalance and help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.
NTs consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. Yoga applies physical exercise, stretching and breathwork to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Yoga instructors will assess an individual’s level of practice capability, and consider any current or previous injuries or conditions. This allows them to provide appropriate types of exercise and movement for each individual.
Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy or exercise as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with 'red flag' signs, symptoms or injuries to their medical professional. They frequently work alongside medical professionals and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client's care to explain any nutritional therapy/yoga programme that has been provided.
Nutyrama requests that the Client notes the following:
-
The degree of benefit obtainable from nutritional therapy and yoga may vary between clients with similar health problems and following a similar nutritional therapy or exercise programme.
-
Nutrition, exercise and lifestyle recommendations will be tailored to support health conditions and/or health concerns identified and agreed between both parties.
-
Nutryama cannot diagnose, or claim to treat, medical conditions.
-
Nutryama’s recommendations are not a substitute for professional medical advice and/or treatment.
-
Any type of exercise carries with it a risk of injury and exacerbation of existing medical conditions. Your yoga sessions are designed to minimise these risks, whilst also providing an effective exercise programme.
-
Nutryama may recommend food supplements and/or functional testing (hormone, stool, blood, genetic etc.) as part of your nutritional therapy/yoga programme and may receive a commission on some of these products or services.
-
Standards of professional practice in nutritional therapy are governed by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance. Any legal conflicts between nutryama and client will be governed by United Kingdom laws.

The Client understands and agrees to the following:
-
I am responsible for contacting my GP about any health concerns.
-
If I am receiving treatment from my GP, or any other medical provider, I should inform him/her about any nutritional recommendations provided by nutryama. This is necessary because of any possible interaction between medication and the nutritional programme.
-
It is important that I inform nutryama about any medical diagnosis, medication, herbal medicine or dietary supplements I am taking, as this may affect the nutritional protocol.
-
If I am unclear about the agreed nutritional therapy protocol/yoga routine/supplement doses/time period, I should contact nutryama promptly for clarification.
-
I understand that the recommendations are personal to me and may not be appropriate for others.
-
I must contact nutryama should I wish to continue any specified supplement programme for longer than the originally agreed period, to avoid any potential adverse reactions.
-
If I experience an adverse reaction from any supplements recommended to me, I must discontinue these immediately, inform nutryama and contact a medical professional if I feel this is necessary.
-
I will inform nutryama of any illness, condition or injury that might be aggravated by exercise or eating certain foods. I may experience some feelings of exertion during each yoga session, and might feel hot and uncomfortable at times. My breathing and heart rate will increase as a result of engaging in physical exercise.
-
For at-home exercise, I will find a space that allows me to move freely and also keep my surroundings tidy to prevent any unwanted accidents.
-
I will be responsible for my own safety during any exercise as part of my package. If I ever experience pain or excessive discomfort during exercise, I will stop the activity immediately and inform nutryama of my symptoms.
-
I agree to indemnify nutyrama from any liability in the case of personal injury or adverse effects.
-
Recording consultations using any form of electronic media is not allowed without the permission of both me and nutryama.
-
I understand that all content provided to me belongs to nutryama, this content will not be reproduced or shared with other parties.
